DDAO [7-hydroxy-9H-(1,3-dichloro-9,9-dimethylacridin-2-one)] is used as a calibration standard for DDAO-based enzyme substrates. It has pH-dependent red fluorescence with excitation close to the He-Ne red laser line 633 nm.
