What is 3,3'-Diaminobenzidine (DAB)?

Posted May 8, 2024

Answer

DAB is a commonly used staining agent in histochemical (HC) and immunohistochemical (IHC) procedures for clinical and research purposes. In these techniques, DAB acts as a stain by being oxidized and transformed into an insoluble polymer, forming a dark brown pigment at the reaction site. This allows the visualization of the target molecule using light microscopy.
