His-Tag Detection
HIS Lite™ NTA-Ni complexes are fluorescent probes designed for specific detection of polyhistidine-tagged proteins in gels, blots, and live cells. These probes feature either Bis-NTA (two NTA groups) or Tris-NTA (three NTA groups) configurations, with Tris-NTA providing higher affinity and more stable binding to His-tags. The chelator versions require addition of nickel before use, while pre-complexed versions are ready-to-use.
Key Features
Tris-NTA configuration – provides sub-nanomolar affinity for exceptional sensitivity
iFluor® dye options – offer superior brightness and photostability compared to conventional dyes
Direct gel staining – eliminates the need for transfer to membranes
Live cell compatible – for tracking His-tagged proteins in real-time
Multiple fluorophore options – for multiplexing with other detection methods
Recombinant Luciferase
Firefly luciferase is a widely used bioluminescent reporter enzyme for gene expression studies, promoter analysis, and ATP quantification. The enzyme catalyzes ATP-dependent oxidation of D-luciferin to produce light emission at ~560 nm, providing a sensitive and quantitative readout for reporter gene assays.
Key Features
Enhanced thermal stability — Improved stability at elevated temperatures compared to native enzyme
High specific activity — Consistent lot-to-lot performance for reproducible results
Recombinant production — Reliable supply without dependence on firefly harvesting
Compatible with Amplite® assay kits — Optimized for use with AAT Bioquest luciferase detection reagents
Applications
Reporter gene assays for promoter and enhancer studies
Dual-reporter assay compatibility when used alongside Renilla luciferase systems
ATP quantification assays
High-throughput screening
