hOVA is the ovalbumin (OVA) modified with hexamethylenediamine to make the proteins bear more amine groups (thus more positive charges at neutral pH). It is proven to be a superior carrier protein for developing antibodies since hOVA conjugates have stronger imunological responses than the unmodifed OVA cinjugates.

Data indicate cBSA-AHD and hBSA-AHD exhibit a stronger immune response to AHD in comparison with BSA-AHD. Similar results are obtained for cOval and hOval conjugates (Mol Pharm. 2011 August 1; 8(4): 1174–1185).
