About
iFluor® 647-dextran conjugate (average MW = ~20K)
iFluor® 647-dextran (20 kDa) is a medium-sized far-red fluorescent polymer that combines efficient cellular uptake with prolonged retention for studying endocytosis and intracellular trafficking pathways.
  • Fluorophore Properties: Conjugated to iFluor® 647, a far-red fluorophore with Ex/Em max = ~656/670 nm; spectrally analogous to Alexa Fluor® 647 and Cy5
  • Dextran Carrier: ~20,000 Da dextran provides intermediate diffusion properties and moderate cellular uptake, ideal for tracking macromolecular transport and endocytosis
  • Application Areas: Optimized for endocytosis tracking, vascular permeability studies, and fluid-phase uptake assays in both in vitro and in vivo settings
  • Photostability & Brightness: Strong fluorescence intensity, high quantum yield, and resistance to photobleaching for reliable, long-term signal detection
  • Spectral Advantage: Far-red emission minimizes cellular autofluorescence and allows for deep tissue imaging and sensitive detection in complex biological samples
