NAADP is a calcium mobilizing agent. NAADP initiates calcium release via type 1 ryanodine receptor (RyR1) activation. NAADP also regulates calcium release from intracellular stores distinct from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), and displays affinity for two-pore channels (TPCs), which release calcium from acidic organelles.
