ReadiPrep™ Plasmid Preparation Column

Product key features

The ReadiPrep™ Plasmid Preparation Column is a simple and efficient tool for plasmid DNA extraction from bacterial cultures.

  • High Purity: Yields high-quality plasmid DNA free of RNA, proteins, and other contaminants.
  • Convenient: Pre-packed, ready-to-use columns for streamlined workflows.
  • Flexible: Ideal for mini-prep scale plasmid isolation from a variety of bacterial strains.
  • Fast: Complete plasmid purification in under 30 minutes.

Product description

The ReadiPrep™ Plasmid Preparation Column is designed for rapid and reliable isolation of plasmid DNA from cultured bacterial cells. Using a silica-based membrane, the column selectively binds plasmid DNA under optimized buffer conditions while impurities such as RNA, proteins, and genomic DNA are washed away. These columns are compatible with Qiagen Miniprep plasmid kits.
Each column comes pre-packed and ready-to-use, minimizing prep time and improving reproducibility across samples. The protocol is simple and requires minimal equipment, making it ideal for everyday lab use. Purified plasmid DNA is suitable for a wide range of downstream applications including restriction digestion, transformation, PCR, qPCR, and sequencing.

Example protocol

AT A GLANCE

  1. Resuspend the bacterial pellet in resuspension buffer.

  2. Add equal volume of lysis buffer, mix gently, followed by addition of neutralization buffer and centrifuge to pellet out the debris.

  3. Load the supernatant onto the ReadiPrep™ Plasmid Preparation Column, spin, and discard the flow through.

  4. Wash the column with binding buffer, followed by wash buffer.

  5. Elute the plasmid in elution buffer.

SAMPLE EXPERIMENTAL PROTOCOL

Refer to the protocol provided with the ReadiPrep™ Plasmid Preparation Mini Kit (Cat No. 67307) for detailed instructions and guidelines.

Comparison of plasmid purified with Competitor A’s purification columns and ReadiPrep™ Plasmid Preparation Columns (cat# 67305). E.coli (Strain DH10B) containing Gα16 plasmid (Size around 3000 bp) was purified using both kits as per suggested protocols. Purified products were run on 1% agarose gel with 1X TAE buffer followed by Gelite safe DNA gel staining (cat# 17700).
