TQ5WS is designed to be a superior quencher to Cy5, TF5 and Cy5.5. TQ5WS has (a). much stronger absorption; (b). much higher quenching efficiency; and (c). versatile reactive forms with desired solubility for labeling oligonucleotides and peptides. This TQ5WS product is used for post-labeling of thiol-modified oligonucleotides and peptides that contain cysteines.

<p>Quencher maleimides are the most popular tools for conjugating dyes to a peptide, protein, antibody, thiol-modified oligonucleotide or nucleic acid through their SH groups. Maleimides react readily with the thiol group of proteins, thiol-modified oligonucleotides, and other thiol-containing molecules under neutral conditions. The resulting dye conjugates are quite stable. They are the excellent building blocks for developing FRET assays.</p>
