How do I know if an antibody is primary or secondary?

Posted September 27, 2021

Answer

The way to distinguish between a primary antibody and secondary antibody is to determine its mode of binding to an antigen. A primary antibody binds directly to a specific antigen while a secondary antibody does not bind directly to the target antigen. Instead, it binds to the primary antibody.
