What is a biotinylated secondary antibody?

Posted May 7, 2021

Answer

A biotinylated secondary antibody is formed as a result of the conjugation of multiple biotin molecules to the secondary antibody. Biotinylated secondary antibodies are used extensively in ELISA and immunohistochemistry for signal amplification and easier detection of proteins expressed at low levels.
