Answer
There are two main types of organic reagents – electrophiles and nucleophiles.
- An electrophile is an organic reagent with lower electron density. It readily accepts a pair of electrons to form a new covalent bond.
- A nucleophile is an organic reactant with higher electron density. It donates a pair of electrons in order to form a new covalent bond.
