There are various similarities between karyotype and chromosome microarray. They are both techniques used for analyzing chromosomes and for detecting chromosomal abnormalities. Karyotype and chromosome microarray are both used to detect aneuploid chromosome mosaicism. However, there are some differences in the detections of aneuploid mosaicism. This is because karyotype analysis detects entire chromosomes, and in contrast CMA analyzes gene fragments.
