Myeloblasts and lymphoblasts are two types of immature precursor cells. Both are derived from hematopoietic stem cells and initially found in the bone marrow. Both myeloblasts and lymphoblasts are large, nucleated, unipotent cells with the ability to differentiate into specialized cells that play crucial roles in maintaining an organism’s immunity. Differentiation of both types of cells is triggered by cytokines.
Myeloblasts and lymphoblasts can both result in the formation of leukemia under abnormal conditions.
