What are the similarities between transformation and conjugation in bacteria?

Posted February 23, 2024

Answer

Transformation and conjugation are two methods of gene transfer in bacteria. Both are mechanisms for horizontal transfer of genes in bacteria. Bacteria use these mechanisms to take up foreign DNA, which gives them antibiotic resistance. Both mechanisms play crucial roles in bacterial evolution.
