What is cell differentiation?

Posted December 15, 2023

Answer

Cell differentiation is the process of embryonic or adult stem cells maturing into specialized cells. Pluripotent cells are able to form all of the cell types in the body. Embryonic stem cells are pluripotent. Multipotent cells can develop into several cell types, but not as many as pluripotent cells can. Adult stem cells and umbilical cord blood stem cells are multipotent.
