A high value of LD50 indicates low toxicity. The higher the LD50 value, the lower the toxicity level of a substance for a specific population. Low toxicity levels are typically indicated by LD50 values in the range of 1,000 to 2,000 mg/kg.  

LD50 is the dose of a chemical that is lethal for 50% of organisms in a test group. A high LD50 means a higher dose is required to kill 50% of the test organisms.
