Where in the genome do most mutations occur?

Answer

Somatic cells are more likely to have mutations than germline cells. These mutations occur after conception and can affect any cell in the developing body except the sperm and egg. Somatic mutations are not hereditary – they cannot be passed on from parents to their children. They only affect the cell where they occur and any cells that grow from that cell.
