Cells which can readily divide are skin and bone cells. Skin cells are constantly dying and being replaced. A human being sheds approximately 40,000 dead skin cells a day. The epidermis constantly produces new skin cells to take the place of the older ones. WIthout this process, it would not be possible to have skin. Bone cells, also known as osteoblasts, assist in bone formation for growth, while osteocytes aid in bone resorption.
