What are the disadvantages of chromosomal mutations?

While chromosomal mutations have a few notable benefits, they have a few disadvantages too. The biggest disadvantages of chromosomal mutations is that they result in genetic disorders.  Some mutations may be minor and have little or no effect on an individual. Others, however, can be significant and cause major concerns such as Down Syndrome, Turner Syndrome, or Cancer.  Other conditions caused by chromosomal mutations include diabetes, asthma, and arthritis.
