What is TRITC-dextran conjugate used for?

Posted May 10, 2023

Answer

TRITC-dextran conjugation is used for several different things in biology. It may be used in membrane labeling, to visualize the shape and movement of live cells. TRITC-dextran conjugates may also be used in endocytosis studies. The conjugate may be engulfed by cells through endocytosis, allowing scientists to track them in cell culture experiments. TRITC- dextran conjugate may also be used in blood flow studies when injected into the bloodstream of animals to visualize blood flow in real-time. This is done using intravital microscopy.
