Tubulin α chain is a protein with a molecular weight of 42 kDa, located in the microtubule of cells. In humans, tubulin α chain binds with GTP. Tubulin α chain has been associated with important functions like GTPase activity. It is an integral part of organismal processes, in particular, microtubule-based process. Sequencing of Tubulin α chain has shown it contains 2 conserved structural units: tubulin_C and tubulin domain.
