XFD350 C5 Maleimide *Same Structure to Alexa Fluor™ 350 C5 Maleimide*
XFD350 C5 maleimide is the same molecule to the Alexa Fluor® 350 C5 maleimide (Alexa Fluor® is the trademark of ThermoFisher). It is a blue-fluorescent dye optimal for use with the 350 nm UV laser. XFD350 dye is water soluble and pH-insensitive from pH 4 to pH 10. The C5 maleimide of XFD350 is the most convenient thiol-reactive form for conjugating this dye to a protein or antibody.
![Fluorescent dye maleimides are the most popular tool for conjugating dyes to a peptide, protein, antibody, thiol-modified oligonucleotide, or nucleic acid through their SH group. Maleimides react readily with the thiol group of proteins, thiol-modified oligonucleotides, and other thiol-containing molecules under neutral conditions. The resulting dye conjugates are quite stable.](/_next/image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fimages.aatbio.com%2Fproducts%2Ffigures-and-data%2Fxfd350-c5-maleimide-same-structure-to-alexa-fluor-350-c5-maleimide%2Ffigure-for-xfd350-c5-maleimide-same-structure-to-alexa-fluor-350-c5-maleimide_GM1G6.jpeg&w=640&q=75)
