Answer
Bacteria are classified into 3 groups according to their basic shapes. They can exist as single cells, in pairs, chains or clusters.
- spherical shaped: round bacteria (cocci)
- cylindrical shaped: capsule-shaped (bacilli)
- spiral shaped: (spirilla).
