Answer
There are two types of ionic detergents – anionic detergents and cationic detergents. Anionic detergents have a negative charge. This is due to the negatively charged sulfate groups as the hydrophilic head. Cationic detergents have a positive charge. This is due to the positively charged ammonium group as the hydrophilic head.
