Answer

Cyanide is highly toxic to humans. Its toxicity level is influenced by the route of exposure. LD50 of cyanide refers to the amount of cyanide that can cause the death of 50% of a specific species. It is indicated as milligrams per kilo of body weight.

The LD50 of cyanide for ingestion is 1-3 mg/ kg of body weight in humans. The LD50 for direct contact is 100 mg/kg of body weight in humans.
