Is a wash step required for calcium flux flow assays?

Posted February 2, 2024

Answer

Several types of calcium flux flow assay kits have been developed which eliminate the need for intermediate wash steps. This allows for straightforward, rapid integration in a high-throughput setting. Each version of these assays provides all the required reagents for convenient use in no-wash or washed assays and is used for both adherent and non-adherent cells. Some examples of these assay kits include FLIPR® Calcium 4 Assay Kit and BD™ Calcium Assay Kit. It is important to note that a wash step is still included in various protocols to eliminate any extra dye or additional substances.
