WGA can also potentially be used for targeting drug carriers to the blood-brain barrier (BBB) due to its strong binding affinity for cerebral capillary endothelial cells. WGA has also demonstrated cytotoxic effects against osteosarcoma, pancreatic cancer, and hepatoma cells.
