Posted November 16, 2023

Answer

There are two main types of T cells. Each has a unique specialized function:

  1. Cytotoxic T cells, also known as Killer T cells, generally attack and kill virally infected cells, damaged cells, and cancer cells.
  2. Helper T cells release cytokines to recruit B cells and other cells involved in the immune response.
