What are the similarities between induced fit and lock and key model?

Posted February 3, 2023

Answer

Both, the induced fit model and lock and key model describe the action mechanism of an enzyme. Both models rely on the degree of precise binding of the substrate to the active site of an enzyme and both are equally important in understanding how enzymes increase the rate of biochemical reactions through catalysis. Both models lower the activation energy of specific biological reactions.
