What are the similarities between peptide and protein?

Posted June 6, 2023

Answer

Peptide and protein are two types of organic compounds found in a cell. Both are composed of amino acids with peptide bonds occurring between the amino acids. Both perform specific functions inside a cell and both undergo post-translational modifications such as hydroxylation, glycosylation, phosphorylation, palmitoylation, and sulfonation.
