What are the similarities between phagolysosomes and phagosomes?

Posted October 2, 2023

Answer

Phagolysosomes and phagosomes are two types of membrane-bound vesicles formed during phagocytosis. They both occur within phagocytic cells and play important roles in engulfing and destroying pathogenic microorganisms. Both phagolysosomes and phagosomes disappear, destroying the microorganisms within them.
