What are the similarities between selectable marker and reporter gene?

Posted March 11, 2024

Answer

Selectable markers and reporter genes are markers used to study transformed cells. These genes are not naturally found in the host cell, making them foreign to it. They are also both introduced along with the gene of interest into the host organism.
