What happens if my immune system fails?

Posted November 7, 2023

Answer

Your immune system plays a crucial role in defending your body against infections and other harmful invaders. If your immune system is weak, you would get sick constantly from bacterial and viral infections. In case of severe immune system failure, you’ll experience more complications from those infections and illnesses and will take much longer to recover.

If your immune system fails completely, it will leave you without critical natural protection against illnesses, causing you to get sick on exposure to everyday things that ordinarily wouldn’t have harmed you. This can include infections such as tuberculosis, recurrent pneumonia, and herpes simplex among others.
