Answer
Separating gel is a type of highly concentrated polyacrylamide gel used in a laboratory technique known as SDS-PAGE (sodium dodecyl polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis). It is also known as resolving gel. Separating gel contains 10% polyacrylamide, resulting in smaller pore size and finer matrix. The pH of this gel is maintained at 8.8.
