What is the significance of cell signaling?

Posted May 3, 2023

Answer

Cell signaling is the mechanism that transmits information between cells. It allows cells to communicate with each other inside the body and also facilitates communication between cells and the outside world.

In multicellular organisms, cell signaling plays a pivotal role in coordinating appropriate responses in the body, maintaining homeostasis, and processing external stimuli. When cell signaling malfunctions, it can result in various illnesses such as autoimmune diseases and cancer among others.
