Answer
Anterograde transport is one of two types of axonal transport. It refers to the transport of substances from the soma or neuronal cell body towards the presynaptic terminals. Anterograde transport is used to transfer newly synthesized components such as neuropeptides, neurotransmitters, membrane lipids, and membrane-associated enzymes from the soma to the distal axon, which is essential for efficient functioning and maintenance of the neuronal membrane.
