The subgranular zone (SGZ), located in the dentate gyrus in the hippocampus, an area associated with regulating learning and memory
The subventricular zone (SVZ), located in the brain’s lateral ventricles, an area where new neurons are generated, before migrating to the olfactory bulb and becoming interneurons
The amygdala, located in the medial temporal lobe in the brain, associated primarily with emotional processes
