The endocrine and nervous systems are the two main body systems that maintain homeostasis in the body. The nervous system controls all body activities and the endocrine system secretes hormones that regulate these activities. However, these two systems do not work in isolation to maintain homeostasis. All the other organs and organ systems play equally important roles in maintaining homeostasis in the body.
