why is it important to lyse cells?

Posted September 28, 2022

Answer

It is important to lyse cells for several reasons. It is used to break open cells to avoid any interaction that would denature or degrade vulnerable proteins and DNA. Cell lysis is also important because of its wide range of uses; it is used in western and Southern blot, lipids, nucleic acids, protein purification, reporter assays, and immunoassays.
