Calibration curve for CYSC LETIA assay: human CYSC were reacted with anti-human CYSC antibody-coated latex, resulting in agglutination and increase in turbidity. Turbidity changes were monitored using a spectrometer to quantitatively measure the CYSC concentration in the sample.
Effect of repeated freeze-thaw on CYSC antibodies: anti-CYSC monoclonal antibodies (Cat# V100030) were subjected to subsequent freeze-thaw cycles from -20°C to 20°C. Anti-CYSC monoclonal antibodies were stable after five repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Application
LETIA
Cystatin C (CYSC) is a non-glycosylated, low molecular weight protein synthesized by most nucleated cells. It is present in all tissues and body fluids acting as a potent inhibitor of lysosomal proteinases and as an extracellular inhibitor of cysteine proteases. CYSC is primarily used a biomarker of renal function, but also has associations with obesity, insulin resistance, hypertension, and cardiovascular mortality. Under normal conditions, CYSC in serum is 0.47 " 1.09 mg/L. When renal function is impaired, CYCS concentration in blood will change with glomerular filtration rate (GFR). During renal failure, GFR decreases while CYSC blood concentration increases more than 10-fold. Anti-CYSC monoclonal antibodies are highly sensitive for the detection of human CYSC proteins. They can be used for a broad range of CYSC immunoassays such as latex enhanced turbidimetric immunoassays (LETIA).
