About
FITC Mouse Anti-human/rabbit/cow Cytokeratin 8 Antibody
C-43, monoclonal, Cross Adsorbed
Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 8 is a 54 kDa protein that can be located in the cytoplasm, dystrophin-associated glycoprotein complex and costamere of cells. It is sometimes referred to as keratin-8, type-II keratin Kb8 and cytokeratin-8. Sequencing of keratin, type II cytoskeletal 8 has shown evidence of it contains a primary structural unit, the IF rod domain. Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 8 binds to protein-containing complex and scaffold protein. It is the subject of extensive study due to the fact that it is a member of the extrinsic apoptotic signaling pathway and tumor necrosis factor-mediated signaling pathway. It is an integral part of organismal processes, for example, keratinization, cornification and response to other organism. Mutations and abnormalities in Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 8 have been thought to be involved with a number of diseases, in particular, cirrhosis.
