Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 7 (sometimes referred to as CK-7, Type-II keratin Kb7, Keratin-7, Sarcolectin, K7 or Cytokeratin-7) is a protein with a molecular weight of 60 kDa, found in the keratin filament, cytosol and cytoplasm of cells. Sequencing of cytokeratin-7 has exemplified it contains a primary structural unit, the IF rod domain. It is thought to be essential to organismal processes, in particular, viral process, cornification and keratinization.
