The Gelite™ 100 bp DNA Ladder is designed for sizing and estimating the mass of double-stranded DNA and PCR products within the 100 to 1,500 bp range on agarose or polyacrylamide gels. This ladder consists of 11 different DNA fragments that have been purified through chromatography. The fragments range from 100 to 1,000 bp increasing in increments of 100 bp, with a band at 1,500 bp. The 500 and 1,500 bp bands are more intense, providing a point of reference for easy orientation. Each band contains an estimated mass of DNA (0.5 µg per 5 µL), which can be used to approximate the mass of DNA in similarly intense samples of comparable size. The Gelite™ 100 bp DNA Ladder is ready-to-use and premixed with the DNA tracking dyes Orange G and xylene cyanol FF for convenient loading and developing sharp bands.
