iFluor® 660 Anti-human CD8 Antibody

SK1 is an anti-human monoclonal antibody that is specific for the CD8a antigen. CD8a (sometimes called MAL or Leu2) is a 32 - 34 kD member of the Ig superfamily that is expressed on the surface of cells such as NK cells and T cells. CD8 is a component of important cellular pathways, for example, the transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway and cell surface receptor signaling pathway. From a research standpoint, it is of biological interest due to its association with important macromolecules/ligands like MHCI. CD8 is a very popular antibody target, with over 125000 publications in the last decade. CD8a is commonly used in flow cytometry applications as a phenotypic marker for differentiation of cell types, especially in the study of immunology. This antibody was purified through affinity chromatography and conjugated to iFluor® 660 (ex/em = 663/678 nm). It is compatible with the 640 nm laser and 693/37 nm bandpass filter (for example, as in the Miltenyi Biotec MACSQuant X).

(Top) Spectral pattern was generated using 4 spatially offset lasers (355 nm, 405 nm, 488 nm, and 640 nm) generating four distinct emission profiles, when combined these yielded the overall spectral signature. (Bottom) Flow cytometry analysis of whole blood stained with iFluor® 660 Anti-human CD8 Antibody *SK1*. The fluorescence signal was monitored using an Aurora spectral flow cytometer in the specific R3-A channel.
