61D3 is an anti-human monoclonal antibody that targets the CD14 antigen. CD14 (sometimes referred to as myeloid cell-specific leucine-rich glycoprotein or LPS receptor) is a transmembrane protein that is located on the surface of cells such as macrophages. CD14 acts in critical cellular pathways, for example, the toll-like receptor signaling pathway, cell surface receptor signaling pathway and lipopolysaccharide-mediated signaling pathway. Moreover, in certain organisms, it promotes interleukin-8 secretion, is a positive regulator of tumor necrosis factor production and is a promoter of type I interferon production. From a research standpoint, it is of biological interest due to its association with essential macromolecules/ligands like LY96. CD14 is a very popular antibody target, with over 42000 publications in the last decade. CD14 is essential for immunology, cell biology and neuroscience research, often serving as a phenotypic marker for differentiating cell types in flow cytometric applications. This antibody was purified through affinity chromatography and conjugated to iFluor® 700 (ex/em = 690/713 nm).
