OG488 DHPE is a phospholipid that is labeled on the head group with the bright, green-fluorescent fluorinated fluorescein dye (also called Oregon Green® 488, Oregon Green® is a trademark of Invitrogen). With absorption and emission spectra that are virtually superimposable on those of fluorescein, OG 488 DHPE provides an important alternative to fluorescein DHPE in many applications. When compared with the fluorescein derivative, OG 488 DHPE exhibits greater photostability and a lower pKa (pKa = 4.7 versus 6.4 for fluorescein).
