Protein piccolo is a 561 kDa protein that can be expressed in the extracellular exosome, cytoskeleton and GABA-ergic synapse of cells. In Homo sapiens, protein piccolo aids in organismal processes, for example, cAMP-mediated signaling, synaptic vesicle clustering and cytoskeleton organization. Sequencing of protein piccolo has supported it contains 3 types of conserved structural units: PDZ, C2 1 and C2 2 domain.
