About
PE/XFD700 Anti-human CD71 Antibody
HI166
HI166 is an anti-human monoclonal antibody that is specific for the CD71 antigen. CD71 (sometimes called Transferrin receptor or TFRC) is a 95 kD member of the Transferrin receptor family that is located on the surface of cells such as endothelial cells and stem cells. In some organisms, CD71 is an enhancer of bone resorption, plays a role in the upregulation of B cell proliferation and is an enhancer of T cell proliferation. From a research standpoint, it is of biological interest due to its association with essential macromolecules/ligands such as Transferrin. CD71 is a fairly uncommon antibody target, with a little more than 4000 publications in the last decade. Even still, CD71 is essential for immunology research, commonly serving as a phenotypic marker for differentiating cell types in flow cytometric applications. This antibody was purified through affinity chromatography and conjugated to PE/XFD700 (ex/em = 566/721 nm). XFD700 is manufactured by AAT Bioquest, and it has a chemical structure similar to that of Alexa Fluor® 700 (Alexa Fluor® is the trademark of Thermo Fisher). It is compatible with the 561 nm laser and 695/40 nm bandpass filter (for example, as in the Agilent Technologies NovoCyte Quanteon).
