It is sometimes called MHC class II DP3-α, MHC class II DPA1 and DP(W3). In Homo sapiens, HLA class II histocompatibility antigen, DP α 1 chain has been thought to be involved with vital functions like MHC class II receptor activity. It is an integral part of organismal processes, namely, adaptive immune response, immune response and cellular response to interferon-γ.
