Anterior gradient protein 2 homolog (sometimes referred to as Secreted cement gland protein XAG-2 homolog or HPC8) is a protein with a molecular weight of 23 kDa, located in the extracellular space and endoplasmic reticulum of cells. In humans, AG-2 is thought to be essential to organismal processes, for example, lung goblet cell differentiation, mucus secretion and digestive tract morphogenesis. It binds with dystroglycan, identical protein and epidermal growth factor receptor.
